“Due to some budget cuts in our Education Program we need to find sponsorships for our youth at King’s Ranch.  Our hope is that people will want to provide gift cards to retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Office Max, Staples, etc so that way the kids have the chance to pick out the specific supplies they will need this fall.  Each youth will have different supplies and needs based upon what grade they are entering so our thoughts on this is that it would benefit the youth to have a gift card and that way they are given the opportunity to pick out what they need.  Our goal is to be able to provide 50 cards at $50 each.  Anything that your church and small groups can provide and help with will be greatly appreciated from The King’s Ranch and the youth that are in need. Thanks so much for your help!  If you can help with this, contact Brooke Story, Community Outreach Coordinator, the King’s Ranch and Hannah Homes, 678-8331, ext. 277 or email brooke@kingsranch.org.  (Posted August, 2008)

7. Meals on Wheels Volunteer Drivers (Individual, Need: volunteer time)

The senior center sends out close to 25 homebound meals each day. We are in need of volunteer drivers. A volunteer would need to be able to drive his/her own car and the commitment is only about 1 ½  hours one day each week. If you are not able to commit to each week we are also in need of stand-by/fill in drivers. We fix the meals at the center and the drivers stop by, pick them up and take them to our seniors in our community. It is a great service and many are very dependent on us. If you know of anyone that might be interested please pass on this information. If you need more info please contact Alicia Lee at the Senior Center at 663-1307.
